Sample Database Project Clinical Documentation and Billing System
Helped Talbert House, a $40M mental health agency, modify their proprietary $500K clinical documentation and billing system. The Clinical Assessment Tracking and Triage (CATT) system was originally designed by Procomp Software Consultants, Inc.
From 2004 to today, we have successfully completed numerous projects to re-design and re-program many areas of the system including clinical documentation, billing / accounts receivable, outcomes tracking, reporting, and EDI.
Chaired a 10 member cross-disciplinary team of representatives from all areas of the organization to gather requirements, feedback, and ensure thorough and successful implementations.
Reported directly to CFO, Director of IT, and Director of Quality and Clinical Services. Presented project status reports to President and all Vice-Presidents at monthly Executive Team meetings.
At times, managed interactions between internal IS department and outside software development firm including supervision of work and approval of invoices.
Created inhouse developer positions to lower long term development costs. Performed candidate search, interviewed candidates, selected candidates. Provided technical training and mentorship for new developers.
Modified many technical aspects of the system including changes in SQL Server, new screens and reports, changes to the system data model, queries, macros, and Visual Basic programming.
Ongoing IT support costs have decreased significantly as a result of our efforts to hire inhouse developers and improve communication with software development firm.
